Edison Park Montessori offers exceptional early education for toddlers in Chicago, fostering growth and learning in a nurturing environment. Our school follows the Montessori method of education, which focuses on hands-on learning and individualized instruction for each child.

Our toddler program is designed to lay the foundation for future academic success by introducing children to basic concepts such as language development, sensory exploration, and early math skills. Through daily classroom activities and guided lessons, our students develop crucial cognitive abilities such as concentration, coordination, independence, and self-control.

The Toddler class gives an introduction to the Montessori environment. These classrooms have Montessori materials and activities, which help children’s sense of independence and self-esteem. The basic goals of this program are to help children develop a cycle of activity, allow confidence and coordination, development through practical life exercises, refine sensorial impressions, and to help the children’s growing language skills. While there are many individual activities to help children become independent, there are also group activities such as songs, games, and snack time which help children develop a sense of community and caring for others.

Schedule: We offer three different types of schedules: Full Day, Extended Day, and Half Day with Lunch.

The Full Day program starts at 6:30AM and ends at 6:00PM. You can pick between Five Day, Four Day, and Three Day attendance. It includes a hot lunch, morning snack, and afternoon snack as well as naptime and outdoor playtime on the playground twice a day: once in the morning and once in the afternoon. All of the children who stay at school more than ten hours will receive three snacks.

The Extended Day program starts at 8:30AM and ends at 3:00PM. You can pick between Five Day, Four Day, and Three Day attendance. It includes a hot lunch, morning snack, and afternoon snack as well as a 30 minute rest period and outdoor playtime on the playground.

The Half Day with Lunch program starts at 8:30AM and ends at 1:00PM. You can pick between Five Day, Four Day, and Three Day attendance. It includes a hot lunch, morning snack, and afternoon snack as well as outdoor playtime on the playground.
